Bluff Creek Aquabike—Olympic

Why aquabike you ask? Well, if you enjoy triathlon and least enjoy running then this race is for you. For me, the Bluff Creek Aquabike helped to serve as a good checkpoint in my Des Moines Triathlon training—only seven more weeks to go. (Everyone should sign up for this inaugural event to show support). I've been lollygagging in preparations for the Labor Day weekend race, and I wanted to get a wake-up call. The aquabike was perfect because I just did the Dam2Dam half marathon and felt good about my run.

Iowa Games Sprint Tri is always an event that is a little special to me. It was my first official outdoor triathlon three years ago.
I was looking forward to this event as I haven’t been racing much this year. My focus has been mainly on Ironman Wisconsin training, but it’s nice to break up the training with a race or two in the middle.
