How long have you been working in the cycling/triathlon field?

25 years

What do you like best about working at Discount Tri Supply?

Two things. After 20-plus years working sales in the bike business, I enjoy the hours here. Until this job I’ve worked weekends since high school. And I like getting to work with a good mix of people I’ve worked with for years and a bunch of new people.

Do you consider yourself a triathlete, a cyclist, a runner, a swimmer…?

Recreational cyclist. I enjoy road and mountain biking.

What got you interested in cycling?

As a kid I loved riding my bike and was always having to fix my bikes, so I would hang out at the local bike shop. It just grew from there.

Do you race?

I used to mountain bike race and have done a couple of cyclocross races in the past. I'd like to do some more cross races because I like the idea of seeing how far can you go in a fixed time period.

If you could have any bike in the store, which one would it be?

S-Works Hardtail Stumpjumper

What bike accessory could you not live without?

Garmin GPS. Never thought I would buy one, but now I’m hooked. Can’t wait to get home and download my ride to see where I went.

What's some of your favorite gear?

Tools. I like to be able to fix anything on my bike at home, and I carry small lightweight tools that can do a lot on rides. Nothing makes me feel better than running into a novice on the trail with a problem and being able to fix it. And a CO2 pump—best thing ever invented.

Family

Wife Julie and a houseful of cats

Hobbies

Building bikes by starting with 1 part, ex: finding a cool rear hub on sale and starting the project there Watching car races, especially anything on dirt Remote control cars Fishing

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Right here trying to help Discount Tri Supply and Kyle's Bikes keep growing and improving.
