On Saturday I ran the Leprechaun Chase 10K in Des Moines, a unique race where the lasses take of at 10:00 a.m., 5 ½ minutes later the lads take off, and it’s a gender race to the finish line. It was a good chance to get out and just ‘race’ before my first triathlon of the season. I knew I wasn’t going to be breaking any records as the race landed in the middle of a big training block, but I wanted the opportunity to get out and work through the hurt. And that I did.
