I became a triathlete again.
Now, it could be said I never stopped being a triathlete since May 11, 2013 when I crossed the finish line at the Waukee Y Pieathlon Sprint. But the intervening five years were less than impressive.
Garmin announced their latest series of multisport watches this week: the fēnix 5, fēnix 5S, and fēnix 5X. Like the rest of the fēnix line, these are packed with rugged outdoor features in addition to triathlon features and daily activity tracking features. All the models have wrist-based heart rate. The new sleeker cases and interchangeable bands makes them very attractive for everyday wear. We are particularly excited about the fēnix 5S.
Triathletes need a lot of things, which can make them easy to buy for during the holiday season. However, if you don't do triathlons yourself it can be hard to figure out where to start. We are here to help you with our triathlete gift guide for 2016!

Knowing that you want to do an Ironman is the first step. Deciding which one to do can be hard. For me, it was an easy choice after volunteering and spectating IMWI 2015. The crowd support is beyond fabulous, and being on the giving and receiving end of the volunteer support is wonderful as well.
